As well as being a painter and print-maker, Mike is also a graphic designer and has a company 'Applications'. With over 18 years experience in design and pre-press work he has been able to 'cross-feed' ideas between fine art and design (a distinction that is not recognised in some parts of the world). For example, he has used his considerable experience in image and colour manipulation to develop his digital prints and has used his ideas and experiments on colour balance to inform his design.

Applications undertakes the design of many items including: logotypes, leaflets, brochures, booklets, books, stationery, websites, banners and posters.
